Cox Communications Selects ADC's Cuda 12000 as Approved Next-Generation DOCSIS 1.1 CMTS; Cox Communications Expands Cuda 12000 Deployment to Five Additional Regions.

Cuda 12000 Integral to Cox Networks

Cox Communications, the nation's fifth largest multi-system cable operator, has formally approved the Cuda 12000 cable modem termination system A cable modem termination system or CMTS is equipment typically found in a cable company's headend, or at cable company hubsite and is used to provide high speed data services, such as cable internet or Voice over IP, to cable subscribers.  (CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) A computerized device that enables cable modems to send and receive packets over the Internet. Cox has also agreed to use the Cuda 12000 as its CMTS platform for all new DOCSIS market launches in West Texas through 2003. The Cuda 12000 will provide Cox customers with carrier-class reliability, scalability and additional bandwidth. These new deployments build upon Cox's earlier use of the Cuda 12000 in its Mid-America region starting in 2000.
