Cowles Media makes announcement.


MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 16, 1995--Cowles Media Co. has announced that Hershel B. Sarbin is relinquishing his responsibilities as CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of Cowles Business Media.

He will continue as a senior advisor In some countries, a Senior Advisor is an appointed position by the Head of State to advise on the highest levels of national and government policy. Sometimes a junior position to this is called a National Policy Advisor.  to Cowles Media Co. and concentrate on the further development of Cowles' business-to-business on-line services.

He will be succeeded by Carolyn Wall as president and CEO of Cowles Business Media, Stamford, Conn., effective February 1. She will have responsibility for the continued growth and development of this company which provides business information through a range of publications and services, including magazines, newsletters, on-line services and conferences.

Wall has had extensive experience in the media and publishing world, including both print and electronic media, consumer and trade markets. At the time of her appointment she was executive vice president, Corporate Development and Sales, at News America and a director of News America Holdings Inc., a unit of News Corp. Before that she was vice president and general manager of New York New York, state, United States
New York, Middle Atlantic state of the United States. It is bordered by Vermont, Massachusetts, Connecticut, and the Atlantic Ocean (E), New Jersey and Pennsylvania (S), Lakes Erie and Ontario and the Canadian province of
 television station, Fox 5-WNYW, executive vice president of Murdoch Magazines and publisher of New York magazine, all parts of News Corp.

Hershel Sarbin has served as president and CEO of Cowles Business Media since December 1990, and has been responsible for significant expansion of the company, its markets and services during that time. In commenting on the change, Sarbin said "Carolyn Wall has an outstanding record in our business, and I am delighted that she will be the one to lead the further growth of Cowles Business Media. She will have a talented team to work with, and I am confident that the momentum we have established will continue."

In making the announcement, David C.
