Cowgate ponder on Fazil debut.

Byline: By Duncan Madsen

Tomorrow's big joloring.com Premier Division match pits fourth-placed Cowgate away to Stocksfield, the club in second spot.

Both club are undefeated with two victories and one weather-affected match and with just five points separating them, this is a real double-pointer.

"It's early doors yet but Stocksfield look like being one of the teams who, hopefully, we will be challenging for the title so it's a very important game for us," said Cowgate secretary Majid Latif.

"We haven't finalised our selection but have a full contingent to select from."

They also have a new professional and Latif explained: "Our new professional, Fazil Mohammed, who is essentially a batsman, has arrived from Pakistan and we have to decide whether he will make his debut tomorrow or wait until our home game against Bomarsund the following weekend."

In the meantime Adv. 1. in the meantime - during the intervening time; "meanwhile I will not think about the problem"; "meantime he was attentive to his other interests"; "in the meantime the police were notified"

, Latif is delighted at the way newly-promoted and surprise leaders Belsay have started.

"Belsay are playing well, they have one or two new signings including the return of Paul Howey and I am glad they are up there," he said.

"But the weather has already played its part with several clubs, including ourselves and Stocksfield having lost one game to the rain and defending champions Warkworth two.

"Nobody wants the title to be decided by rained-off games and I hope that the teams who are fighting it out at the end of the season will be doing it on the field and not watching the weather from the pavilion!"

Elsewhere, third-placed Chopwell are at Bomarsund and Warkworth are away to Bedlington.
