SIMON Cowell Simon Cowell (born 7 October, 1959) is a British artist and repertoire ("A&R") executive for Sony BMG in the United Kingdom and a television producer, more commonly known as a judge on television programmes such as Pop Idol, The X Factor, American Idol  has admitted he made mistakes over his handling of Susan Boyle.

The Britain's Got Talent Britain's Got Talent is a British television show on ITV (also on TV3 in Ireland). Presented by Ant & Dec, the talent show premiered on 9 June 2007, and was broadcast daily with a live final on 17 June 2007.  judge spoke after the singer pulled out of a fourth live show yesterday amid growing fears for her health.

Speaking about watching her fail to win the popular vote he said: "I suddenly realised she didn't know how to cope with losing. We didn't handle it well."

Cowell claimed Susan "seemed fine" in the nervy build-up to the big night - and he made sure she had all the help she needed.

He added: "Then, at the crucial point in the final, I looked at her face and thought, 'Christ, she doesn't know how to deal with not winning'.

"It was a bad moment.

Afterwards, I went over and gave her a hug and tried to reassure her.

"I said, 'Susan, my offer to record an album with you still stands'. We agreed we would work together - that it wasn't the end of the road."
