Command and control centres and maintenance facilities for vehicles
and helicopters are two suggested applications for the JS model shelter
from DHS Systems. The JS provides a large, clear span, open shelter
interior (104 [m.sup.2]), and multiple shelters can be connected
end-to-end and on both sides when the construction of a much larger
facility is the order of the day. The JS design requires no field
assembly, although it takes a team of eight for deployment and striking
(accomplished with a low-pressure air bladder) in less than 30 minutes.
The JS comes with its own support trailer, which carries a tilt bed
platform with which to position the JS on the ground. Removable wheels
are then attached to the JS for ease of positioning and expanding,
precluding the need for any lifting action. The trailer houses the
portable air blower (22.6 kg) and a 5 kW generator set.
