CoveredCall.Com Announces the Week's Actively Traded Stock Options.HOUSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 31, 1998--This week's option trading was highlighted by active stock option trading in several securities, according to CoveredCall.Com, an Internet-based stock information service. Monday's stock option trading was lead by Oracle Corp. (Nasdaq:ORCL ORCL Oracle (stock symbol) ). Oracle gapped up on the opening bell Monday and closed out the week plus 2 points. AOL was also on top of the most active stock options board on Monday. AOL (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :AOL) closed the week up 20 points to end the year at $155 1/2. AT&T (NYSE:T), which on Monday stated that it should reach its previously announced goal of trimming 18,000 jobs a year ahead of schedule, also saw active option trading on Monday. AT&T closed out the year at $75 3/4. Rounding out the top five on Monday were General Electric and MCI (1) (Media Control Interface) A high-level programming interface from Microsoft and IBM for controlling multimedia devices. It provides commands and functions to open, play and close the device. (2) (Microwave Communications Inc. WorldCom (Nasdaq:WCOM WCOM MCI/Worldcom (stock symbol) WCOM Windows Component Object Model WCOM Wireless Communication ). General Electric (NSYE:GE) closed out the week plus 1 point at $102 and WCOM, which traded between $70 and $76 during the week, closed Thursday at $71 3/4. Tuesday found Cisco Systems (Nasdaq:CSCO CSCO Cisco Systems Incorporated (stock symbol) CSCO Chief Supply Chain Officer ), which traded in a slight down trend for the week to close the week at $93 3/4, on top of the most active stock option board. Options on IBM (NYSE:IBM) were also actively traded Tuesday. IBM fell from a high near $190 on Tuesday to close the week at $184 3/8. Also on the most actives Tuesday were Verisign Inc. and Johnson & Johnson. Verisign (Nasdaq:VRSN VRSN Verisign, Inc. (stock abbreviation, AMEX) VRSN Version Number (NEC) ) lost 15 points on the week to close at $59 1/8. Johnson & Johnson (NYSE:JNJ) gained 4 points this week to close the year at $83 7/8. On top the most active options table on Wednesday was Chase Manhattan (NYSE:CMB) which closed the year at $71 a share. Also on top the most actives was Citigroup (NYSE:C). Citigroup traded in a slight down trend this week to close the year at $49 3/4. Electronic Data Systems (NYSE:EDS (Electronic Data Systems, Plano, TX, www.eds.com) Founded in 1962 by H. Ross Perot (independent candidate for the President of the U.S. in 1992), EDS is the largest outsourcing and data processing services organization in the country. ), which gained 2 points this week, and Novell (Nasdaq:NOVL), which gained 1 point to close the year at $18 1/8, also saw their options actively traded on Wednesday. Thursday was the final trading day of 1998. On top of the most actives Thursday was Chase Manhattan, Three Com and Microsoft. Three Com (Nasdaq:COMS) closed the year at $44 3/4.
