Covered Parking at Metro Airport's Big Blue Deck for Only $8.00 Per Day! Detroit Metro Airport offers Holiday Parking Promotion to Beat the Winter Blues ... Long Term Parking in Metro's Big Blue Deck reduced to $8.00 per day ... $7.00 per day with www.metroairport.com website coupon.
Beginning today and running through January 15, 2003, Metro Airport is slashing its Long Term Parking prices for travelers choosing to park in the airport's Big Blue Deck, across from the Smith Terminal. During this period, the regular $13.00 rate will be reduced to $8.00 per day, a savings of nearly 40%.
Travelers searching for an even better deal can visit Metro Airport's website at http://www.metroairport.com/ to download a parking coupon which provides even greater savings. With the website coupon, travelers pay only $7.00 per day, a saving of nearly 50%, for long term parking in the airport's Big Blue Deck.
"Since the opening of our huge new parking garage at the McNamara Terminal, we have had a lot of excess parking capacity at the airport's Big Blue Deck," said Wayne County Airport Authority CEO Lester Robinson. "These covered parking spaces are a great value to travelers, especially during the snowy winter months. To help increase usage of this structure and encourage travelers to come fly during the holiday season, we thought this promotion made a lot of sense."
While parking at the Big Blue deck is most convenient for travelers flying out of the L.C. Smith Terminal, shuttle bus service from the Big Blue Deck is also available for travelers who are flying other airlines out of other terminals at DTW. Shuttle busses pick-up on the first and third levels of the Big Blue Deck every 15 minutes for trips to all of Metro Airport's terminals.
Parking promotion is valid for Long Term Parking in the Big Blue Deck Only. Coupons will not be accepted at the McNamara Terminal parking garage or any of the airport's surface lots. Website Coupons will be valid until January 8, 2003. No coupon necessary for special $8.00 holiday rate. $8.00 holiday rate promotion ends after January 15, 2003.
Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport is undergoing one of the most dramatic transformations of any airport anywhere, and recently tied for 2nd place among large U.S. airports in a customer satisfaction survey conducted by J.D. Power and Associates. In addition to the new 97-gate Edward H. McNamara Terminal / Northwest World Gateway, the airport has also recently opened a new 10,000 ft. runway, and a new airport south access road (John Dingell Dr.) providing a second primary entrance to the airport off of another major area interstate highway (I-275). With the creation of the new Wayne County Airport Authority, and future terminal projects planned, Metro Airport is quickly positioning itself as one of the finest air transportation gateways in the world.
