With new coverage from the Hartford Steam Boiler Inspection and Insurance Co., local governments of all kinds can recover tax revenue lost when a fire or other insured accident destroys residential or commercial property. The coverage is available as part of a municipality's, county's or school district's insurance package. Coverage is activated when the loss of tax revenue exceeds a specified percentage of the insured's total tax revenue, and it lasts from the date of the insured loss to the lesser of restoration of the premises or 12 months.
