Covenants Not to Compete: A State-by-State Survey.

Sixteen new issues and three new cases are addressed for the first time in the 2000 supplement to Covenants Not to Compete: A State-by-State Survey, which brings the resource up to date on the statutory and common law developments through 1999.

Legal issues addressed for the first time include attorney-client privilege, continuity of enterprise doctrine, context characterization, employee choice doctrine, employment discrimination, implied terms, invention-assignment agreements, judicial notice, malpractice in failure to file appellate brief, restraints on alienation, stay of proceedings, stipulations, and subject matter jurisdiction.

The 2,266-page supplement is organized by state and includes a softcover index volume for easy reference. It is published in conjunction with the ABA Section of Labor and Employment Law, Employment Rights and Responsibilities Committee. The supplement can be purchased for $245 plus tax, shipping, and handling, or with the main volume for $410 plus tax, shipping, and handling.
