Another Milestone in the Company's Successful Track Record against maturity models from Software Engineering Institute (SEI)

Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global consulting and technology services company, today announced that its subsidiary, Covansys India, has been assessed at Level 5 of the People Capability Maturity Model (PCMM(R)). This is the second such distinction for Covansys, which also achieved SEI-CMM(R) Level 5 on their first assessment in 1999 for the offshore development centers in India. Both the PCMM and SEI-CMM ratings are testament to Covansys' continual improvements, and the company's ability to meet its customer's needs effectively and efficiently.

The PCMM framework was developed by the Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA. It defines organizational maturity of people processes and practices on a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the highest. It is the only framework that addresses the needs of employees, their competencies, and the processes that need to be in place to ensure that the organization is continuously improving and is able to meet the business needs effectively and efficiently.

The assessment covered all the project units and other support areas at Covansys locations in Chennai, Bangalore and Mumbai.
