Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global technology services company, today announced it will host nearly two dozen expert seminars nationwide over the next three months to help IT executives understand how to best tap the strategic value presented by offshore outsourcing capabilities.

Covansys, which owns one of the most significant offshore capabilities of any U.S.-based technology services provider, said it plans to host at least 21 breakfast seminars in major markets coast to coast beginning in September.

The seminar series, entitled "The Offshore Opportunity," is designed to provide a clear, comprehensive look into leveraging expert resources in India to reduce cost, and improve quality and time to market for enterprise IT projects. Industry analyst Stephanie Moore, offshore outsourcing expert for Giga Information Group, will keynote the events.

The decision to host a series of seminars follows the success of a pilot event offered by Covansys in Cleveland. The June 26th inaugural event attracted more than 40 corporate executives, including chief financial officers, chief executive officers, chief information officers and IT managers.

Covansys has a decade-long track record of success in providing domestically managed offshore outsourcing for more than four dozen top companies, including Ford Motor Company and Henry Ford Health Systems.

Last year alone, more than a third of all Fortune 500 companies outsourced technology projects to India. On the whole, U.S. companies spent $5.5 billion on offshore outsourcing in 2000 - and analysts expect that figure to more than triple by 2005.
