Release 1 of the Kentucky Vehicle Information System (KVIS)

Implemented And Provides Citizens With Web Access And Capabilities

Covansys Corporation (Nasdaq: CVNS), a global technology services company, and the Transportation Cabinet of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, today announced at a morning press conference that Release I of the Kentucky Vehicle Information System (KVIS) has been implemented.

KVIS, part of EMPOWER Kentucky - an initiative to improve the way citizens interact with government - is a state-of-the-art online system that will provide easy access and information via the Internet, including E-forms, answers to frequently asked questions, county clerk information, personalized license plate queries, and Internet renewal requests. All of these features, except Internet renewal requests, are currently available statewide. Internet renewal requests will be tested in Jefferson County for a brief period of time before being activated statewide.

Kentucky, a state with 4 million people, registers 6 million boats and vehicles annually.
