Covance CEO Chris Kuebler Talks to The Wall Street Transcript.NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 23, 1998--The Wall Street Transcript A generic term for any kind of copy, particularly an official or certified representation of the record of what took place in a court during a trial or other legal proceeding. A transcript of record has published an in-depth interview with Chris Kuebler of Covance, Inc. (NYSE NYSE See: New York Stock Exchange :CVD CVD Cardiovascular disease, see there ), in which he talks at length about his company's future. He says, "Covance has been a public company for about 19 months, having been spun off from Corning. Prior to launching our new corporate identity, we represented a group of companies that performed various aspects of contract development for new biologicals and pharmaceuticals." He explains, "Drug development is a very lengthy, expensive process that can take seven or eight years to complete. It can cost up to $500 million to get a single drug through the development process and regulatory approvals around the world. The pharmaceutical industry is turning increasingly to companies like Covance to outsource a lot of their drug development work. The pharmaceutical industry has an abundance of new drugs to develop, and does not have the capacity to do it themselves." Looking forward, he states, "The organic growth from what we do today will be fairly attractive. We promised to grow our top and bottom lines by at least 20%. We've achieved this growth and delivered on our promises since we became public, and we did it for a few years prior to that when we were part of Corning. So yes, I think we will be able to continue to deliver that growth rate, and perhaps it will accelerate over time." To read the complete interview, go to http://www.twst.com/pdf/cvd.pdf.
