Medici (mĕ`dĭchē, Ital. mā`dēchē), Italian family that directed the destinies of Florence from the 15th cent. until 1737.
 as Corporate Vice President and General Manager for Clinical Services, North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. . Mr. Medici will focus on accelerating revenue growth in the company's clinical services area and enhancing its reputation for superior customer service.

Mr. Medici has 15 years of experience in the healthcare industry, working with affiliates of Roche Diagnostic Systems, a division of Hoffmann-LaRoche Inc., in Europe and the United States United States, officially United States of America, republic (2005 est. pop. 295,734,000), 3,539,227 sq mi (9,166,598 sq km), North America. The United States is the world's third largest country in population and the fourth largest country in area. . In 1992, Mr. Medici became president of Roche Diagnostics Roche Diagnostics Division is a subsidiary of Hoffmann-La Roche which manufactures equipment and reagents for research and medical diagnostic applications. Internally, it is organized into six major business areas: Roche Applied Science, Roche Centralized Diagnostics, Roche  Systems for the U.S. market. Over the next five years, he nearly doubled the company's sales and instituted highly effective customer service practices.

Mr. Medici graduated in 1983 from The Universita Degli Studi in Milan, Italy, with a degree in Chemistry and Pharmaceutical Technology. He was a research fellow in pharmaceutical chemistry. Mr. Medici replaces Dr. Harris Koffer, who was recently appointed as Corporate Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Trials Research and Development. In this position, Dr. Koffer will lead Covance's global initiatives to streamline the drug development process and further integrate the company's diverse development service areas.
