Covalent Technologies, Inc., the leader in products and services for the open-source Apache Web server platform, today announced three new additions to its management team -- Mark Losh, Jim Zemlin and Scott Albro.

These experienced professionals join a dream team of some of the most highly regarded developers in the Apache and open-source community. Leading Covalent's team is John M. Jack as president and chief executive officer. Since joining the company two months ago, Jack has helped design Covalent's professional services and training programs, as well as the company's expanded services offering. Mark Losh, Covalent's new vice president of sales and business management, has over 15 years of sales, business development, customer support and executive management experience in the enterprise software market. Losh is the former vice president of sales and business development at Shaman Corporation, an Internet-based software reliability company. There he was responsible for implementing worldwide sales and distribution strategies and managing the customer interfacing organizations. Losh has held executive positions at Resolute Software, acquired by Quest Software (Nasdaq:QSFT), Centura Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:CNTR), KnowledgeWare, Inc. -- acquired by Sterling Software, then by Computer Associates (NYSE:CA), and Applied Data Research, also acquired by Computer Associates.

As Covalent's vice president of marketing, Jim Zemlin brings an established background in marketing both consumer products and new technologies and services. Under his guidance, Zemlin established Corio, Inc. as one of the premier brands in the burgeoning ASP industry. As a founding member of the Corio management team, Zemlin was responsible for developing Corio's brand identity, demand creation programs, product positioning, and overall marketing strategy during Corio's first year in business. Prior to Corio, Zemlin was brand manager for Western Wireless, now VoiceStream Wireless and Western Wireless.

Joining Zemlin is Scott Albro, Covalent's vice president of product management and strategy. He also brings a successful track record in a variety of challenging entrepreneurial positions to Covalent. Prior to joining Covalent, Albro was director of business development at Corio. He played a key role in defining Corio's business model and developing strategic relationships with Corio's software, professional services and infrastructure partners. He has also worked as an analyst for G2R, a market research consultancy recently acquired by the Gartner Group.
