At Home customers who switch to Covad DSL are eligible for a $225 rebate on the DSL self-install kit with modem, which makes installation cost free after the rebate. Average installation time for Covad's residential services, TeleSurfer and TeleSurfer Plus, averages about 11 days. Customers immediately can use up to 10 free hours of Covad's dial-up services while waiting for installation, so they can maintain their Internet access. The modem is self-installed with Covad's JumpStart(R) Installation Kit, a very easy three-step process, and will be delivered to the customer's home after the DSL line has been installed and the connection tested.

Covad also offers an on-line status check for new broadband orders, called Web Self Service, which lets any customer see the progress of their installation at any time. Monthly costs for DSL service from Covad start at $49. Ordering is available at www.covad.com and by calling 800/636-3500, or through Covad's premier consumer Internet Service Providers Internet service provider (ISP)

The rebate is available for orders placed through Covad.net between December 1, 2001 and January 31, 2002. Completed rebate forms must be mailed and postmarked by February 28, 2002. Customers must remain in service for at least 30 days to be eligible and a one-year service contract is required.
