), a leading national provider of integrated voice and data communications, today announced that it will appoint John E. Trewin as its Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer. The appointment will be effective March 16, 2005.

Trewin joins Covad with nearly 20 years' experience as a CFO See Chief Financial Officer. . Most recently he has served as principal of Trewin and Associates, counseling domestic and international clients in the areas of finance, SEC compliance, investor relations and information technology. Prior to that he spent seven years as Vice President and CFO of California Micro Devices Corporation, a publicly held $50 million manufacturer and marketer of integrated semiconductor products for computer, telecommunications, networking and medical equipment manufacturers.

Trewin also served as CFO for The O'Brien Corporation, a $140 million privately held manufacturer and marketer of architectural, industrial and automotive coatings and supplies, and as Vice President, CFO and Director of Ampex Corporation, then a $700 million international manufacturer and marketer of television, instrumentation, and computer equipment and magnetic recording tape.
