"Covad's Ohio network is now expected to cover 135,000 businesses and 1.2 million homes, and we anticipate these numbers will continue to grow as Covad expands into other Ohio areas."

Entrance into the Columbus and Dayton markets follows Covad's recent announcement of installing more than 100,000 DSL lines nationwide. No other competitive local exchange carrier has reached this DSL milestone and the figure represents a 75 percent growth rate since December 31, 1999.

By providing seamless DSL access over already-installed copper phone wires, Covad allows users to quickly and easily surf the Internet without dialing up through phone lines, waiting for a connection or redialing after a busy signal.
