) presents Community Prosecution Strategies, which discusses the emergence of community prosecution strategies, drawing on examples from 36 locations across the country, and identifies common elements among the diverse sites. This report also describes the philosophy behind community prosecution, which presents a distinct departure from the case and conviction orientation of traditional prosecution. It adopts the belief that local crime problems can best be resolved by engaging community members in the solutions and aims to improve residents' quality of life by placing prosecutors in the community to address neighborhood-specific crime problems.
