CUPERTINO, Calif. -- Robert Osann, a Silicon Valley veteran, today announced the consignment of Lot 33, comprised of US Patent 7,231,232 and pending Divisional Application 11/803,081, enabling more courteous usage of cell phones. The lot will be offered at The Ocean Tomo Fall 2007 Live IP Auction on October 25th at the Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.

The issued claims cover individual and joint implementations related to:

1) A delayed answering method that lets the receiving party relocate so they can take a cellular call without disturbing those around them.

2) A method for ring truncation on flip-phones where the ring tone ceases when the phone is flipped open, and a silent ring indication persists.

"Cell phones are now ubiquitous, but frequently used discourteously," said Osann. "Cell phone calls are often answered during meetings and events, and the receiving party feels compelled to immediately start talking -- disturbing others. The Courtesy Answering Mode lets the receiving party delay the conversation until they relocate to a better location."

"Custom ring tones for cellular phones have evolved into symphonies and rock concerts, greatly disturbing others," added Osann. "Frequently, the concert continues while the receiving party decides who is calling and how to process the call. The Flip Phone Ring Truncation feature immediately stops this annoying cacophony upon opening a flip phone, replacing it with a silent ring indication." Also, flip phones thus equipped no longer require external displays, saving cost.

While the traditional cell phone has continued to shrink in size, the new PDA smart phones are larger, making them difficult to fit in your pocket. As a result, they are often kept in a briefcase or a purse. Without the phone in contact with the user's body, the traditional vibration mode becomes useless. Currently-pending Divisional Application No 11/803,081 entitled "Vibrating Wireless Headset for Wireless Communication Devices" has claimed the needed functionalities. These include a vibrating wireless headset which can be Bluetooth enabled, as well as a vibrating Bluetooth wristwatch which controls a mobile phone. When issued, this application will offer protection from the filing date of the parent application -- February 13, 2002.
