Court in Brief.

AMONG the cases dealt with by Teesside Magistrates' Court on March 28 were: Liam Foster, 19, of Marshall Avenue, Middlesbrough, given a 16-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, with a three-month curfew and a supervision requirement, for breaching a community order, failing to stop and aggravated vehicle taking.

Neville John Thomas Large, 35, of Grey Street, Stockton, given a six-week prison sentence suspended for 12 months, with a supervision and an 80-hour unpaid work requirement for theft, breaching a community order, breaching a restraining order, failing to surrender and possession of cannabis.

David Thomas Power, 50, of Church Lane, Ormesby, fined PS60 and ordered to pay PS20 costs for speeding.

David Lake, 62, of Rotherham Avenue, Stockton, fined PS100 and ordered to pay PS215 costs for using a vehicle when the load was such that its use involved a danger of injury to any person.

Lee Hunt, 32, of Stokesley Road, Hemlington, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS150 compensation with PS100 costs for criminal damage.

Marc Anthony Pelling, 28, of Forber Road, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS100 costs for possessing a Class B drug.

Yonas Brham Tsadik, 29, of Crescent Road, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS100 costs for theft.

David Hearfield, 34, of Sunnyside, Coulby Newham, fined PS400 and ordered to pay PS307.99 compensation and PS125 costs for theft.

Jordan Lee Hunter, 19, of Meadowdale Close, Port Clarence, fined PS70 and ordered to pay PS85 costs for drunk and disorderly behaviour and breach of a conditional discharge.

Gary MacPherson, 21, of Enderby Gardens, Hemlington, jailed for seven months for breaching an anti-social behaviour order, breaching a suspended sentence and assaulting a police officer.

Richard Dunn, 39, of Grange Avenue, Stockton, fined PS200 and ordered to pay PS75 costs for speeding.

Richard Lowe, 45, of Ripon Road, Brotton, fined PS60 and ordered to pay PS20 costs for speeding.

Paul Robert Thompson, 27, of Ellesmere Walk, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month community order with a 40-hour unpaid work requirement and ordered to pay PS100 costs for failing to surrender to court and theft.

Kevin Lee Doolan, 25, of Ainstable Road, Middlesbrough, fined PS600 and ordered to pay PS125 compensation with PS310 costs for assault and failing to surrender to court.

Natalie Jennifer Christine Jenkins, 25, of Ross Street, Middlesbrough, given a seven-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS36 compensation with a PS100 costs for making off without payment.

Gary Love, 28, of Borough Road, Middlesbrough, ordered to pay PS320 compensation with PS350 costs for criminal damage, assault and failing to surrender to court.

James Thomas Durose, 20, of Acton Street, Middlesbrough, given a 12-month community order with a programme and a supervision requirement and ordered to pay PS100 for assault.

Neil Charles Putson, 33, of Vancouver Gardens, Longlands, given a 24-month restraining order and a 12-month community order with a 60-hour unpaid work requirement and ordered to pay PS360 costs for breaching a non-molestation order.

Lee Anthony Cope, 28, of Lambton Road, Middlesbrough, banned from driving for three months, fined PS150 and ordered to pay PS170 costs for drink-driving.

John James McMenamin, 26, of Steel Crescent, South Bank, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS65 costs for theft.

Amanda Louise Veins, 31, of Lanberry Green, Middlesbrough, jailed for four weeks for drunk and disorderly behaviour and assaulting a police officer.

Gary Crabtree, 31, of Whitby Street, Hartlepool, fined PS100 and ordered to pay PS20 costs for theft, breaching a suspended sentence and failing to surrender to court.

Kelly Garvie, 24, of Wensleydale Grove, Ingleby Barwick, given a 12-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS50 compensation for using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour and assault.

Stanley Spanswick, 41, of St Aidans Drive, Middlesbrough, ordered to pay PS300 compensation and breaching an anti-social behaviour order.

Malcolm Bright, 36, of Raleigh Road, Stockton, fined PS70 and ordered to pay PS70 costs for possessing a Class B drug.

Andrew Hoare, 25, of Ribchester Close, Stockton, given a six-month conditional discharge and ordered to pay PS1,000 compensation and ordered to pay PS100 costs for criminal damage.

Imran Majid, 33, of Byelands Street, Middlesbrough, fined PS90 and ordered to pay PS70 costs for driving without an appropriate licence.

Catherine McGinty, 48, of Hebron Road, Stokesley, fined PS35 and ordered to pay PS70 costs for speeding.

Paul Parker, 25, of The Greenway, Middlesbrough, fined PS400 and ordered to pay PS65 costs for permitting vehicle to be used without insurance.
