Court decision favors Eggland's Best; Attorney General drops appeal.

BOSTON--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 25, 1995--Eggland's Best, Inc., developer of superior-quality patented eggs, today announced that the Massachusetts Attorney General's office has agreed to drop its appeal of the Superior Court decision in favor of the company.

The court dismissed a lawsuit concerning Eggland's Best advertising in December 1994, and denied the Attorney General's motion for reconsideration on April 17, 1995.

"We are obviously very pleased with the court's vindication of our position and the Attorney General's decision to drop its appeal," said Robert J. Fuhrman, president of Eggland's Best. "This will assure that Massachusetts consumers will be able to learn the facts about the Eggland's Best clinical studies just as consumers in other states have been able to do. It will also save Massachusetts taxpayers and our company a great deal of money."

Although Eggland's Best eggs contain about as much cholesterol as other eggs (213 mg., 71 percent of FDA's Daily Value), clinical studies at the Medical College of Pennsylvania Medical College of Pennsylvania, formerly in Philadelphia; chartered and opened 1850 as the Female Medical College of Pennsylvania; became Woman's Medical College of Pennsylvania 1867, Medical College of Pennsylvania 1970.  found that people on the low-fat diet low-fat diet A diet low in fats, especially saturated fats, which has a positive effect on arthritis, CA, ASHD, DM, HTN, obesity, and strokes.
