Court TV to Spend Record $160 Million On Programming Over the Next Two Years.

Continuing its pace as one of the fastest growing basic cable networks in the industry, Court TV will spend a record $160 million dollars over the next two years on primetime programming that will include over 100 hours of original documentary productions and the premiere of four new series in 2002.

All original programming supports Court TV's viewers' interest in investigation. In addition, Court TV will premiere its second original made-for-television movie in the fourth quarter, 2002. In all, the channel will produce over 300 hours of new original programming for the 2002-2003 season. The announcement was made today by Henry Schleiff, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Court TV.

Court TV network recently announced the launch of a multi-million dollar re-branding campaign built around the tagline "Join the Investigation". This initiative, which reflects the network position as the home of investigative programming, consists of new primetime positioning, tagline, on-air primetime look and image spots. The campaign is supported by a $16 million marketing campaign. Court TV's total marketing budget is $28 million, up 12% over last year.

The four series previewing during the 2002-2003 season include:

12 million homes year to year, an increase of 28%. Court TV currently reaches
72 million households and expects to be in over 80 million homes in 2003.

- First quarter 2002 was Court TV's most-watched quarter ever, with an average
household delivery of 557,000 homes, up +61%, compared to 345,000 homes first
quarter 2001. This growth was fueled by strong performances from signature
series Forensic Files and Court TV's first original movie, Guilt By
Association.

- Court TV ended the first quarter of 2002 with a record primetime rating of
.8. The network also posted 51 straight months of increased viewership. The
channel continues to deliver its audience in the key Adult 18-49 age group.
Viewers in that demographic group increased +40% vs. first quarter a year ago.

- Court TV's first original movie, Guilt By Association, hit record numbers for
the network garnering a 1.5 rating and attracting 1,044,000 viewing homes its
first airing. During its time period, among all ad-supported cable networks,
the original movie ranked 4th among viewing HHs, 2nd among Adults 18+, 6th
among Women 18-49 and 5th among Women 25-54. Over the course of a two-week run,
the movie reached over 6,100,000 households.

- Court TV Online websites, including courttv.com, thesmokinggun.com and
crimelibarary.com, saw traffic surge to a record 33 million page views in March
2002, a 119% increase over March 2001 traffic volume.


Court TV will continue producing original feature-length television movies that focus on social justice issues. Projects in development include:

Psychic Detectives Psychic Detectives is a television program produced by StoryHouse Productions for Court TV, as of 2006 in its 5th season. The program documents real-life cases of situations in which police departments have enlisted the aid of psychics in solving difficult cases. : This documentary looks at the investigations where psychics proved instrumental in breaking the case.
