Court TV Wins Prestigious DuPont-Columbia University Award; Court TV One of Only Two Cable Networks Among Winners.

Court TV has won the prestigious Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Award for excellence in broadcast journalism Broadcast journalism refers to television news and radio news, as well as the online news outlets of broadcast affiliates. , it was announced yesterday, December 18.

The System: The Interrogation of Michael Crowe looks at the controversial interrogation tactics used by police in the murder investigation of 12-year-old Stephanie Crowe. Having no other suspects, the police focused on the victim's 14-year-old brother Michael. The System: The Interrogation of Michael Crowe, hosted by Catherine Crier, premiered on Court TV on April 10, 2001. The one-hour primetime documentary was produced by Marc Wallace and Jonathan Greene. Carolyn Kresky was the executive producer. Executive overseeing production was Ed Hersh, Senior Vice President, Documentary and Specials.

The Alfred I. DuPont-Columbia University Awards have recognized excellence in broadcast journalism since 1942. The Awards are now regarded as the most prestigious prizes in television and radio news, the broadcast equivalent of the Pulitzer Prizes.
