Continuing to broaden its crime and justice themed evening lineup, Court TV has teamed up sardonic radio personality Lionel and Daily Show co-creator Lizz Winstead Lizz Winstead (born August 5, 1961) is a Minnesota-born comedian who was co-creator of The Daily Show (TDS) along with Madeline Smithberg, and served as head writer. , for an April 1 launch of the new nightly series Snap Judgment a judgment formed on the instant without deliberation.

In a bold move for Court TV, Snap Judgment will present an irreverent, satirical and 'judicially incorrect' look at the absurdities that exist in all areas of the legal system.

"With the addition of Snap Judgment to our schedule, Court TV now reflects the spectrum of crime and justice programming," commented Henry Schleiff, President and Chief Executive Officer, Court TV. "In a departure from the more traditional way in which we generally cover the American justice American Justice is an hour-long criminal justice program on the cable channel A&E Network, hosted by Bill Kurtis. The show features interesting or notable cases, such as the Scarsdale Diet doctor murder, the Hillside Stranglers, Selena Murder of a Star, Matthew Shepard, or the  system, Snap Judgment takes a look at the strange, the ridiculous, and the frequently unbelievable parts of that system, all presented in Lionel's unmistakably outspoken style. We think he is clearly a breakout talent in the tradition of Dennis Miller Dennis Miller (born November 3, 1953) is an American Emmy Award-winning comedian, political commentator, television personality, and talk radio host. He rose to fame as a cast member of Saturday Night Live  and Bill Maher."

Snap's host Lionel, once a defense attorney and a prosecutor, has seen it all, and realizes he would rather offer his unique irreverent commentary on the judicial system than participate in, as Lionel says, "The train wreck train wreck Medtalk A popular term for a multiproblem Pt in critical condition  they refer to as a system."

"And there's no better conductor for this train wreck than Lionel," adds Winstead, executive producer of Snap Judgment.

Lionel will open each show with a no-holds-barred "op-ed" based on legal stories culled from dozens of national newspapers. One episode will feature a rant about New York New York, state, United States

Mayor Giuliani's proposal to seize the vehicles of drunk drivers. Lionel believes it should be taken to the next 'logical' step: "Let's take it one step further and start arresting people in liquor store parking lots."

Snap Judgment also has assembled a team of producers and roving field correspondents (former Daily Show producer Liz Layton and actor/writer James Greenberg) who will cover offbeat off·beat

Other features include profiles of some of the more obscure players in the legal profession, clips of celebrities on the witness stand, and "Lionel On The Loose" man on the street interviews questioning the masses about their feelings on the law. In each episode Lionel, with the help of an in-studio "expert" (using the term loosely) will offer legal advice to those in need of his unique take on the law...desperate though they may be.
