A COVENTRY man who tried to steal an pounds 800 bicycle by snapping its lock with bolt croppers has been jailed for 16 weeks.

Lloyd Wayne Clare, aged 25, of Rollason Road, Radford, was also found guilty of failing to comply with a community order. Magistrates ordered that the bolt croppers be seized and destroyed.

Other cases heard at Coventry Magistrates' Court on October 28 were:

Carl Alan Luke Hill, aged 24, of Foleshill Road, Foleshill, Coventry, burglary, two months' curfew.

Ramaz Okropriridze, aged 31, of St Nicholas Street, Coventry, driving with an incorrect licence, using a mobile phone while driving, fined pounds 90.

Richard Kenneth Phelan, aged 34, of Penhouse, Tile Hill, Coventry, drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place, conditional discharge for six months.

Jamie John Plumb, aged 21, of Smorrell Lane, Bedworth, drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place, fined pounds 65.

Kamar Rashid, aged 21, of Lythalls Lane, Holbrooks, Coventry, possession of cannabis, a class C controlled drug, fined pounds 65, order for forfeiture and destruction of the drug.

Martin Alan Redmond, aged 20, of Forfield Road, Coundon, Coventry, drunk and disorderly behaviour in a public place, fined pounds 50.

Andrew John Joseph Riddell, aged 37, of no fixed address, theft to the value of pounds 35.04, fined pounds 75.

Sara Joanne Sims, aged 34, of Henley Road, Bell Green, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 70.83, committing an offence during the period of a suspended sentence, fined pounds 75, 20 hours of unpaid work added to community order.

Andrew Auwkit, aged 20, of Radford Road, Radford, Coventry, taking a vehicle, using a vehicle without insurance, driving with an incorrect licence, committed to a young offenders' institute for 12 weeks, banned from driving for two years.

Fergus Anthony Hainey, aged 38, of Vicroft Court, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 34.21, community order for nine months, ordered to attend low-intensity alcohol module.

Karen Anne Hardy, aged 34, of Evelyn Avenue, Foleshill, Coventry, assault, 16 weeks' prison sentence suspended for one year, supervision order for one year.

David Kiernan, aged 20, of Holland Road, Radford, Coventry, using or threatening unlawful violence, community order for one year, ordered to attend the Think First programme.

Geoffrey William Kusila, aged 23, of Compton Court, Compton Road, Coventry, failing to provide a specimen or specimens of breath, driving while disqualified, using a vehicle without insurance, obstructing a police officer, 12 weeks' prison sentence suspended for one year, banned from driving for three years, supervision order for one year, ordered to attend the drink-impaired drivers' scheme.

Jake Best, aged 30, of Sandy Lane, Radford, Coventry, failing to comply with a community order, three months' curfew.

Jamie Smith, aged 32, of Guild Road, Foleshill, Coventry, failing to comply with a community order, fined pounds 450.

Paul Street, aged 30, of Campion Close, Cheylesmore, Coventry, failing to comply with a community order, order to continue with an additional 25 hours' unpaid work.

Michael Anthony Wells, aged 27, of Shackleton Road, Earlsdon, Coventry, failing to comply with a community order, order to continue with an additional 20 hours' unpaid work.

Tobyn Gareth Boneham, aged 37, of Lincoln Street, Coventry, theft to the value of pounds 120, conditional discharge for two years.
