PEOPLE who want to learn more about beekeeping beekeeping
 or apiculture

Care and manipulation of honeybees to enable them to produce and store more honey than they need so that the excess can be collected. Beekeeping is one of the oldest forms of animal husbandry.
 can sign up for a course.

Solihull Beekeepers Association's Introduction to Beekeeping course will run over eight weeks from January 18 and will be held at John Palmer John Palmer is the name of several notable individuals, including:
  • John Palmer (Bath architect) (1738-1817), British architect
  • John Palmer (actor) (1744-1798), British actor
  • John Palmer (postal innovator) (1742-1818), inventor of the lightweight mail coach
 Hall, Christ Church, in Solihull.

The course will be purely theoretical but people will have the opportunity to put their new skills into practice at the branch's apiary in Malvern Park in the spring.

The course costs pounds 30, which includes refreshments.
