Course aims to get students fighting fit for employment.FROM this September, students at Redcar and Cleveland The borough of Redcar & Cleveland is a unitary authority in the ceremonial county of North Yorkshire, England consisting of Redcar, Saltburn-by-the-Sea, Guisborough, and small towns such as Brotton, Skelton and Loftus. College will be drilled in the art of fitness instruction as the new foundation degree in Sports Coaching and Exercise is launched. The course, which is delivered part-time, is aimed at people employed by, or looking to begin a career in, the sports and leisure industry. Students are expected to come from a variety of work roles in leisure and sports centres, schools, and private and public sector organisations as well as from voluntary and community organisations. The programme will mean that the existing skills that students have at Level 3 will be raised to Level 4 and Level 5. Tim Ward Tim Ward can refer to:

"The aim is to keep the content of the course as relevant to the students' own profession as possible, meaning that they will instantly be able to make use of the skills they are learning." The course has been developed in partnership with sports based organisations across the Tees Valley The Tees Valley is an area the North East of England. It can be described as "greater Teesside" and consists of the four unitary authorities created by the breakup of the County of Cleveland in 1996: Hartlepool, Middlesbrough, Redcar & Cleveland, and Stockton-On-Tees along with and accredited by the University of Teesside The University of Teesside, based in Middlesbrough, UK, has a student body of 20,685 students as of 2005. Recording rises in applications of 11.4%/2.5% for degree courses beginning in 2005/2006 respectively has given Teesside, for two years running, the highest such percentage . It will integrate national governing body qualifications to improve the skills and coaching awards already held. Students can enhance their continual professional development portfolio within the sports industry whilst on the course by working towards accredited qualifications in their field such as FA coaching badges.
