: TOC), the world's largest provider of corporate and professional learning solutions, has joined forces with the Microsoft Corporation, the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC), and Bellevue Community College's National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (NWCET NWCET National Workforce Center for Emerging Technologies (Bellevue, WA) ) to provide advanced professional development training to 1,300 IT instructors who teach up to 100,000 students at the nation's 1,151 community and technical colleges.

Throughout the 2003 spring and summer semesters, Course Technology will provide financial support and educational materials to more than 400 community and technical colleges, which are critical links in preparing the large number of skilled IT workers that businesses and industry need to remain globally competitive.

The Working Connections Faculty Development Institute was launched in March 2002, when Microsoft committed $1.3 million plus software to the effort. Course Technology joined the Working Connection's initiative to become a member of the training partnership as a sponsor of the institute in 2002 and plans to provide courseware for all 11 events, including texts on .NET, Multimedia, and Information Security in 2003.
