 quiet, ordinary life hid a spiritual life of extraordinary sanctity. She had the "courage to love" Jesus to the extent of never wanting to offend him even in the smallest matters. She gradually became a mystic, and finally received the stigmata stigmata (stĭg`mətə, stĭgmăt`ə) [plural of stigma, from Gr.,=brand], wounds or marks on a person resembling the five wounds received by Jesus at the crucifixion. . Her superiors asked her to write the story of her life, which she did during her last five years. This autobiography was published in 1984, but seems to be unavailable at present. Courage to Love, however, relies heavily on the biography and quotes generously from it to reveal the communion between Dina and Jesus.

, she suffered greatly, but found joy in doing so. She was shown how much the salvation of souls depends on the love of those close to God, and she responded generously in order to save sinners.
