County opens new complex.

 County, Va., opened its new Community/Sports Complex to the public on April 1. The celebration of three years of planning and building included speakers from the local and state government, live music, sports demonstrations and refreshments re·fresh·ment

. The 59-acre complex includes 22 acres of playable sports fields for football, baseball, softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Invented (1888) in Chicago as an indoor game, it was at various times called indoor baseball, mush ball, playground ball, kitten ball, and, because it was also played by women, ladies'  and soccer. Park officials say that this is only the first step in providing recreation opportunities to local residents. Culpeper Parks and Recreation Director John Barrett John Barrett may refer to:

 says the project will address the need for ball fields now and further projects will come later. The $4.4 million project is the first of its kind in the county, designed to serve residents within a 15-mile radius of the complex.
