County face Havant test; Welsh football watch.

NEWPORT County Newport County may refer to:

, who play Hampton and Richmond today, are at home again on Wednesday evening.

The visitors to Newport Stadium Newport Harriers were the first sports club to commit to the stadium and invested heavily in the project whilst Newport County were exiled from Welsh Football.

The Stadium, which is owned and managed by Newport City Council, has been upgraded to Nationwide Conference standard in
 will be Havant and Waterlooville, who are managed by Shaun Gale Shaun Michael Gale (born Reading 8 October 1969) is an English former footballer who is manager of Havant & Waterlooville F.C. in the Conference South league.[1]  with ex-Cardiff City player Charlie Oatway his assistant.

Rocky Baptiste, who scored a crucial goal as Havant dumped Swansea City out of the FA Cup last season, will also be with the Hampshire club.

Newport manager Dean Holdsworth went into today's clash with Hampton badly needing a victory. The Exiles had collected only two points from a possible 15 leading up to the game and conceded 13 goals in five games.

Both Paul Keddle and Nick Skelton paid the price when they were released and Holdsworth has spoken to around 30 Coca-Cola League clubs over the last week in his search for new talent. Former Cardiff City player Steve Jenkins, nowa Newport coach, has been on standby to play if a new signing did not arrive in time.
