County Bank Raises Over $14,000.00 for the New York Relief Efforts.

MERCED, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 15, 2001

Upon hearing the news of the September 11th attacks On September 11, 2001, in the deadliest case of domestic Terrorism in the history of the United States, a group of 19 terrorists hijacked four U.S. airliners for use as missiles against targets in New York City and Washington, D.C. , County Bank President and Chief Executive Officer Tom Hawker sent out a challenge to the Team Members of the bank. In keeping with the Core Values of the bank and the commitment that the organization has to serving others, he promised that the bank would match every cent donated by team members for the New York New York, state, United States

 Relief Effort. "I really strongly believe that it is the least that we can do for the victims of this vicious attack," said Hawker. "This not only effected the New York community but every American has felt the effects of this horror."

The team members donated $ 4,414.41 which totaled $8,828.82 after the match was made. The other $5,634.13 came from County Bank customers. "What an honor it is to be a part of this team of people and this community who care so much, not only about the communities that we serve but for those in need too," continued Hawker.
