This is the fourth year running projects from Northumberland have been nominated for the award and the county council's early years and child care service has also been shortlisted for the Children Now award for its joint work with the Fire and Rescue Service, which it plans to extend across the county. Coun Jim Wright, executive member for children's services, said: "Congratulations to the finalists for achieving national recognition for their hard work. Northumberland County Council is proud of the success of these projects, and it's great to see that this is being picked up nationally too. "They are showcases of innovative thought in how they deliver services to children and families, and are integral to the county council's work towards the Every Child Matters agenda."
