Country Maid Foods income increases.

AURORA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 21, 1996--Country Maid Foods Inc. (OTC:CMFI) announced today that revenue for the fiscal six months ending Sept. 30, 1996, increased 27% to $1,910,103 from $1,504,015 in the same period a year ago.

Net income increased dramatically to $3,948 for the six months from a loss of $251,281. The company attributed the increases to better cost controls and higher prices for its commercial egg production.

Country Maid Foods Inc. stated that the prices received for its commercial egg production are the highest in the last eight years with the wholesale market now at or above $.87 per dozen. "We are optimistic that the internal increases in egg production along with continued strong egg prices will result in further sales and earnings improvement in the months ahead," said Country Maid Foods Inc. President John C. Moneymaker.

The company is continuing to finalize the acquisition of the Villines egg breaking plant in Springdale, Ark. Country Maid Foods Inc. began utilizing the plant on Sept. 15, 1996 and is waiting for final creditor approval to complete the acquisition.

Country Maid Foods Inc. has two subsidiary's; Country Maid Farms Inc. which is a commercial egg production company with operating facilities in Missouri, Nebraska, and South Dakota and Harrington-Chase P.L.C. of London, England, which is primarily engaged in the import and export of agricultural related products.
