Country Maid Foods Inc. announces completion of acquisition of Villines processing facility.

AURORA, Mo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 18, 1996--Country Maid Foods Inc. (OTC:CMFI) announced today that in conjunction with Northwestern Capital LLC it has completed the acquisition of the commercial egg-breaking facility from Villines Foods Inc.

Under the terms of the agreement, Country Maid Foods Inc. has assumed full operational responsibility and control of the facility. Jose Chipollini was named as general manager of the new division, which will be called Country Maid Egg Products Inc.

The plant, located in northwest Arkansas, allows Country Maid Foods Inc. to utilize its own production in value-added egg production, a growth industry that now utilizes 27 percent of all shell eggs in the United States. The facility produces liquid eggs, frozen egg products and value-added products used in food product manufacturing, food service and further processing. The egg-breaking plant has the capacity of processing 1.2 million dozen eggs per week.

Country Maid Foods Inc. has two subsidiaries: Country Maid Farms Inc., which is a commercial egg-production company with operating facilities in Missouri, Nebraska and South Dakota; and Harrington-Chase P.L.C., of London, which is primarily engaged in the import and export of agriculture-related products.
