HobbyVisions International will hold its annual convention Oct. 9-12, bringing more than 300 of the industry's leading hobby and remote control (r/c) toy manufacturers to Las Vegas Las Vegas (läs vā`gəs), city (1990 pop. 258,295), seat of Clark co., S Nev.; inc. 1911. It is the largest city in Nevada and the center of one of the fastest-growing urban areas in the United States. .

The Sands Expo The Sands Expo and Convention Center, at 1.2 million square feet (110,000 m²), is the second largest convention center in the Las Vegas, Nevada area. It opened in 1990 across the street from the original Sands Hotel.  & Convention Center at The Venetian will be host to HobbyVisions and the 10,000 attendees expected.

Tickets will be sold at the door. Admission for children ages four and under is free, ages 5-11 is $5, and adults is $10. At HobbyVisions, Chianelli will host Robot Rivals, a robot competition sponsored by the DIY network, which allows for audience interaction, prize giveaways, and autograph signings by network personalities. The competition will involve robots produced by college students participating in new episodes of Robot Rivals.

Organizers are also providing free HobbyVisions admission to the school's students and staff.

"Frank Lamping Elementary School is very grateful to HobbyVisions for their donation to the William McCool Space Center," said school principal Michael O'Dowd. "We're also pleased to accept a replica of the Wright Brothers plane from HobbyVisions to display in our Air to Space Museum, currently under development."

HobbyVisions has also partnered with other charitable organizations and arranged to give a portion of ticket sales to the Believe in Tomorrow Foundation as well as the Tony Siragusa Foundation. Kato Kaelin and Tony Brown, former Buffalo Bills player, will be on hand representing the New Jersey-based Siragusa Foundation which donates 100 percent of its grants to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, Grant-A-Wish, and the Ed Block Courage Award Foundation for battered and abused children.
