Councillor's a real-life charity Calendar Girl! 'There's a bit of leg but nothing over the top'.Byline: Katie Norman A CHOIR-SINGING Cardiff councillor has stripped off as part of a WI-inspired charity calendar. Linda Morgan, who is ward councillor for Tongwynlais, Cardiff, and the mother of Tory AM Jonathan Morgan, is among the pin-ups on show in the Castell Coch Choral Society's 2009 Calendar. As the choir'smusical director, Coun Morgan is featured as Miss January with the caption "Leader of the gang I am". She wears a lacy black stocking while holding a conductor's baton. She said: "I've been selling the calendars in the council chamber and they're proving very popular. "They'requite funny. There'sabit of leg and boob showing but nothing over the top." Pictures illustrating other months include a snap of four ladies wearing shower caps while shielding their modesty with umbrellas and a photograph of three choir members in school uniforms. Many of the pictures were inspired by the Women's Institute project behind the hit movie Calendar Girls, but some of the photographs are less risque ris·qué adj. Each year the choir selects a number of charities to raise funds for. This year their causes include the stroke unit at University Hospital of Wales University Hospital of Wales (referred to locally as "the Heath" or UHW), opened in 1971, is situated on the outskirts of central Cardiff, Wales. It is also the third largest University Hospital in the United Kingdom providing 24 hour Accident & Emergency and various in Cardiff. Members mostly sing for pleasure but also perform at charity concerts, through which they have raised more than pounds 100,000 over the years. Coun Morgan founded the society more than 30 years ago after being urged to set up a choir by former headmaster of Tongwynlais Primary School Tongwynlais primary school is a small school in the South Wales village of Tongwynlais[1] it is home to roughly 100-120 pupils. Based at St Michael'sChurch Hall, in Tongwynlais, the choral society started out with 15 members but now includes more than 67 men and women of all ages. The choir will perform when Merthyr Road, in Tongwynlais, hosts a visit from Santa Claus and his sleigh sleigh: see sled. from 8pm on Thursday, December 11.
