Council pledges to get even better.

ANGLESEY County Council leader Coun Phil Fowlie has pledged to continue improving performance across all services.

Coun Fowlie was responding to the Wales Local Government Data Unit's third annual bulletin, which looks at performance across a range of services in the 22 councils.

Coun Fowlie said: "Anglesey has fared well in terms of its overall performance in this report, and we are successfully hitting our targets in several key areas, which is to be welcomed.

"There are also areas, of course, where we can do much better, and I am committed to improving performance within this authority for the benefit of the people of Anglesey.

"My fellow executive members are also very much focussed on performance management and, working with our officers, we are committed to improving services across the board."

Established in 2001, the Local Government Data Unit ~ Wales is a partnership venture jointly funded by the National Assembly for Wales and Local Government in Wales.

It provides an independent and apolitical vehicle to improve the collection, availability and use of data for local and central government in Wales.
