Council on Competitiveness to Host National Innovation Summit; Organization Will Issue Recommendations to Foster American Innovation.


WASHINGTON -- The Council on Competitiveness, a national organization of business, academic and labor leaders, will host the National Innovation Summit on December 15, 2004.

At the summit, the co-chairs of the Council's National Innovation Initiative(TM) (NII), Samuel J. Palmisano Samuel J. Palmisano (born July 29, 1951) is the current Chairman, CEO, and President of IBM, one of the world's largest IT companies. He was elected Chairman in October 2002, effective January 1, 2003, and has served as Chief Executive Officer since March 2002. , chairman and CEO (1) (Chief Executive Officer) The highest individual in command of an organization. Typically the president of the company, the CEO reports to the Chairman of the Board.  of IBM Corporation, and G. Wayne Clough Gerald Wayne Clough is the current president of the Georgia Institute of Technology, a position he has held since September of 1994. He is notable for being the first alumnus to hold that position. Biography
