Council benefits team in running for top award.
CHESHIRE West and Chester Council's Revenues and Benefits team
has reached the final of a prestigious national award just weeks after
being presented with a separate honour.
The team is in the spotlight for the "nearly flawless"
joining of the Revenues and Benefits computer systems of the County
Council and Chester City Chester City or City of Chester may mean: Places

on January 20 and the team has been included in the final seven in
the"Local e-Government excellence: Team" category.
Deputy leader of the council, finance executive member Les Ford,
said: "This is a fantastic achievement out of some 447 entries from
across local and central government, and confirms the strength of this
project after the recent success in the national IT Excellence Awards.
"I am proud of the work that has taken place to 'pull
together' different IT systems in time for the start this April of
Cheshire West and Chester Council.
"We will wait and see if we can win a second award among
strong competition from across the UK."
