Could you please help?: support the Adopt a Teacher Program.

Dear Colleagues,

As President of ACEI ACEI Angiotensin Converting Enzyme Inhibitor
ACEI Association for Childhood Education International
ACEI Association of Consulting Engineers of Ireland
, I shared my vision for the Adopt a Teacher Program (2003-2005) in the Fall 2003 Exchange. At that time, I outlined a plan and invited our ACEI family and other professional colleagues to take three steps forward to consider adopting a preservice, novice, experienced, or seasoned teacher for one year, with the potential for continuing into a second year. ACEI members and other professional colleagues have been inquiring inquiring,

at a steady rate about becoming a part of the Adopt a Teacher Program, and they have begun making special "adoption" arrangements. Loren Lor´en

Meinke, President of ACEI's Presidents' Council, was the first to step forward in response to this appeal. Ah ha! The Adopt a Teacher Program is gaining momentum worldwide.

Because the Adopt a Teacher Program is a personal passion and a HIGH-priority agenda item for me as President of ACEI, I pledge to give $1,000 a year to the program for the next three years. Starting at the 2005 ACEI Annual Conference in Washington Washington, town, England

, D.C., these funds will be used to recognize and support (in a small way) two teachers who are members of ACEI with the presentation of two $500 awards.

In order for the Adopt a Teacher Program to honor As a verb, to accept a bill of exchange, or to pay a note, check, or accepted bill, at maturity. To pay or to accept and pay, or, where a credit so engages, to purchase or discount a draft complying with the terms of the draft.  and support more than two teachers each year, I need the support of our ACEI family and other professional colleagues. Would you please consider giving financial support (at least $100) to the Adopt a Teacher Program? OUR collective efforts and three steps forward will make a significant difference as we support the work of preservice, novice, experienced, or seasoned teachers in unique and creative ways.

Since becoming President of ACEI, I have received offers from many of you to help in any way needed while extending your joyful joy·ful

Thank you so very much for supporting and believing in a dream, the Adopt a Teacher Program. If you would be interested in continuing this discussion, please contact me (jblackwe@ iupui.edu or 317-274-6830).
