Could this be the age of the laity? (you may be right).

THANK YOU FOR LESLIE SCANLON'S ARTICLE, "HERE comes everybody's church" (May). I found particularly helpful the quote from R. Scott Appleby saying that the church ought to "provide financial and career support for lay ministries and not see them as a stopgap or replacement until we get more priests."

The state of the average parish where I live is dreadful. The priests appear to be going through the motions; the homilies are perfunctory per·func·to·ry

; and the parishioners have their car engines started before they're even out the door--and rightfully so.

And yet, when I attend the lay leadership training conferences that my job in Catholic book publishing book publishing. The term publishing means, in the broadest sense, making something publicly known. Usually it refers to the issuing of printed materials, such as books, magazines, periodicals, and the like.  brings me to, I find the Spirit alive like nowhere else on the planet.

I concur fully with Appleby that it's time It's Time was a successful political campaign run by the Australian Labor Party (ALP) under Gough Whitlam at the 1972 election in Australia.  in the church. Or, better yet, maybe it's time that we organize ourselves, similar to the movement started by Saints Francis of Assisi, Clare, and Dominic that lit the world on fire 700 years ago.

If, as quoted in Scanlon's article older people still have a notion that the Catholic Church is an institution founded by Christ, but young Catholics don't, it is because Catholics actually used to get an education in their faith in previous generations.

There is, in fact, tons of biblical and historical evidence that the Catholic Church really was founded by Jesus Christ Jesus Christ: see Jesus.

. If Catholics were aware of this, it might change the way they look at their church. They might stop thinking it's the church that is in error when she teaches something with which they disagree, and realize instead that it is they who are deceived.

The Mass was given to us directly by God. It isn't about getting entertained or finding a parish that offers what we want; it's about worshiping God in the manner he ordained or·dain
