Could Alesha be the new John Sergeant?

ALESHA Dixon could be Strictly Come Dancing's secret weapon.

I know she's attracted a lot of criticism, most of it justified, after her debut. After all, from what I've seen, her comments aren't too disimilar from everyone else's analysis as they sit on their couches at home. Except, she gets paid in spadefuls to squeak 'brilliant!' and we don't.

But think about it. The worse she gets, the more the ratings will climb as folk who don't know a rumba from a rum baba, and couldn't care less anyway, tune it to see what the fuss is all about.

The BBC know that the X Factor will always have the rating high ground and pure, honest to God entertainment isn't enough.

They need controversy, a new John Sergeant.

And Alesha may just fit the bill.
