The attendees could also take advantage of Ringling Bros.' "three ring adventure" before the shows, in which visitors to the circus are able to meet with performers on the circus floor.

Dr. Philip Rosoff of Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center said the day was meaningful to the three families who attended from Duke Children's.

"When cancer strikes a child, it affects the entire family and our approach to treatment involves brothers and sisters and parents as integral members of the health care team," said Dr. Rosoff. "The companies made it a special day for the entire family, allowing very special children and their families a brief respite RESPITE, contracts, civil law. Shelley Mitchell of SAS' Partner Programs organization originally had the idea for the special day because she wanted to find a different way to engage SAS partners.

"We work with our partners on the business level every day," said Mitchell. "By teaming up with them outside a work setting, I believe strengthens the relationships. The added benefit of doing good for the community made it that much better."

David Septoff, Principal of Zencos Consulting, one of the partner organizations sponsoring the event, said, "It is easy to get lost in the daily activity of doing our business. Events like this help us to remember other important things in life."

Life Experiences, a Research Triangle-based nonprofit, offers specialized facilities, training and employment for adults with disabilities, enabling them to gain employment and social skills. Eleven Life Experiences clients attended the afternoon performance at the RBC Center.
