CARLOS Costly could be set to make his Blues bow against Burnley tomorrow after Alex McLeish revealed the striker is available for selection.

The Honduran's loan move from Polish outfit GKS Belchatow was given international clearance on Tuesday.

The target-man's last competitive match was a cup game against Legia Warsaw on December 6 and Blues have now put the 26-year-old on a fast-track fitness course.

However, despite admitting that he is slightly lackingmatch fitness, Blues boss McLeish will have no qualms over involving Costly at St Andrew's tomorrow.

"We received confirmation this week. Julia Shelton, our secretary, and her team have worked extremely hard to try to get it pushed through as quickly as possible," he said.

"Last time he played was over a month ago. He's possibly slightly behind in terms of the fitness that our boys are at. But we think we can fast-track him on that and certainly we would make him available."

McLeish is also confident that Costly will click with whichever striking partner he is paired with, given his track record with Honduras.

"He's used to playing in the in a pair with a very capable player called David Suazo, of Inter Milan. Carlos and him are fabulous foil for each other.

"He has got the cleverness and technical ability to have chemistry with whichever centre- forward we go with."
