Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight of $3.79 billion for the four weeks ended October 31, 2004, an increase of 11 percent from $3.42 billion in the same four-week period of the prior fiscal year. For the first 9 weeks of its 2005 fiscal year ended October 31, 2004, the Company reported net sales of $8.32 billion, an increase of 11 percent from $7.49 billion during the similar 9-week period of the prior fiscal year.
