Notes: This amount is calculated by subtracting the following items from gross sales: merchandise returned for credit, allowances for damaged or missing goods, freight of $2.73 billion for the four weeks ended February 3, 2002, an increase of 13 percent from $2.42 billion in the same four-week period of the prior fiscal year. For the first twenty-two weeks of its 2002 fiscal year ended February 3, 2002, the Company reported net sales of $16.13 billion, an increase of 12 percent from $14.45 billion during the comparable period of the prior fiscal year.
