Trans Tech, Carol Stream, Ill., the Space-Frame reservoir is designed for the company's economical ExpressLiner ink cup (launched in 2006), virtually eliminating expensive conventional ink cups. The molded ExpressLiner design is said to allow use of removable carbide carbide, any one of a group of compounds that contain carbon and one other element that is either a metal, boron, or silicon. Generally, a carbide is prepared by heating a metal, metal oxide, or metal hydride with carbon or a carbon compound.  or ceramic doctor rings with performance equal to previous systems.

The new reservoir device is said to significantly reduce the cost of using the company's RedStar MultiCup-system pad printers. It is also said to work with pad printers that use either mechanical or magnetic ink-cup hold-down. Operators now can choose to use the disposable liner liner /lin·er/ (lin´er) material applied to the inside of the walls of a cavity or container for protection or insulation of the surface.
