A newly patented process is said to bundle high loadings of colorants and additives in concentrates at levels not previously achievable. New G2 technology from Carolina Carolina (kärōlē`nä), city (1990 pop. 177,806), Puerto Rico. Located 7 mi (11 km) SE of San Juan, it is a residential suburb of the capital, as well as a commercial and industrial center.  Color Corp., Salisbury Salisbury, town and district, England

, N.C., is said to achieve an industry goal of making "super concentrates" that have not previously been possible. Says company president Matt Barr, "G2 has overcome processing challenges with a proven ability to provide exceptionally effective dispersion dispersion, in chemistry

and distribution in both large and small parts." The new G2 product line is claimed to save 15% to 30% in color cost and allow processing at lower temperatures, which can save 5% to 10% in cycle time. Barr also cites faster incorporation, which reduces flow lines and streaking in large parts and also offers potential for lightweighting of parts due to improved physical properties.
